近年常聽到年青人說”我的性格唔識合打工，只識合創業”的言論，結果大都是在父母打本下開間賣精品、時裝、飾物、電話用品、漫畫的舖頭，然後在一年半載後蝕光家人的幾十萬積蓄後結業。吾友曾指出”做生意並不是懂得Micheal Porter便成'，筆者對此深表認同。筆者向各位有志開舖創業的年青人，推薦肥佬黎那幾本有關創業的書，讀後一定令你得益匪淺。(如零售永遠是 location、location and location，在某個租金特平的小貓三四隻的商場開店，簡直是自尋死路.)。筆者認為作為一個創業者必需要EQ(如不要給人家灌估唔到你都幾內行/pro的迷湯)、分析能力（如某供應商告訴你這批貨將會大熱，預計明年市場佔有率為20%。這些說話最多只能打三折)、嚴格控制支出/存貨(不要誤信小財唔出大財唔入的歪理或給人家笑是penny counter)。令人遺憾的是，多數只識合創業的年青人，皆欠上述的質素，所以年青人開舖創業的fatal rate特高，這也是筆者反對年青人貿然用家人的錢去開舖的理由。誠而，香港的成功和香港人的創業精神絕對分不開，然而若細心研究香港白手興家的富豪發跡史,不難發現，他們在都不恥下問及做足功課下，才下注創業(如包玉剛在建立航運王國時，曾請教董浩雲及為減低船租的波動風險發明長租LC加按的方法。鄭裕彤是從金舖的後生挨上來的. )，而不是心口有個勇字便去死。至於開公司創業比開舖零售的所需要的學問更多，要求更高，有機會再談。

北美IT公司甚愛在見工時，出一些智力問題考考見工者，下列兩條是筆者見工時曾被問過的問題;說句實話，這些puzzle問題一理通百理明，見得多自然懂得解題奧妙；

Question 2: a bad king has a cellar of 1000 bottles of delightful and very expensive wine. a neighbouring queen plots to kill the bad king and sends a servant to poison the wine. (un)fortunately the bad king's guards catch the servant after he has only poisoned one bottle. alas, the guards don't know which bottle but know that the poison is so strong that even if diluted 1,000,000 times it would still kill the king. furthermore, it takes one month to have an effect. the bad king decides he will get some of the prisoners in his vast dungeons to drink the wine. being a clever bad king he knows he needs to murder no more than 10 prisoners - believing he can fob off such a low death rate - and will still be able to drink the rest of the wine at his anniversary party in 5 weeks time.
